In Lent, We Repent
Lent is a traditional season
of fasting, moderation, and self-denial practiced by Catholics. It is a day set
aside each year to commemorate God's love, which is poured out through Christ
Jesus and his death on the cross, and his conquest over death, sin, and Satan
in Christ's death and resurrection, which grants you Eternal Life. Lent is done
by fasting, both from food and from festivities. The Lenten season begins on
Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday. Lenten is the season where we reflect,
repent, love, give thanks, and ask for forgiveness.
Lenten is just as important as
the other holidays. In this seasonal holiday, we dedicate most of our time to
God. So it is of the utmost importance to respect whether you’re a Catholic or
not and participate if you’re Catholic. Why is it important? It is significant
because, during the season of Lent, we focus on observing fasting, prayers, and
charity. In fasting, we demonstrate sacrifice. We give something up during the
season to use the time that we will sacrifice to be given to God. In prayers,
we repent. We give thanks and ask forgiveness from God. Finally, in charity, we
offer and provide help for other people. In charity, we show generosity and
love, like the generosity and love that God gave us.
The Lenten season is
significant because it is when and where we connect with God. Lenten season is a meaningful
seasonal holiday. This is an opportunity for all to connect and have a
relationship with God. Giving respect, acknowledging God and Jesus’ gift and
sacrifices by praying, fasting, and giving charity makes it much more
meaningful.
