“A Bigueño’s Cheer”

Christmas, which is observed on December 25, is a hallowed religious festival and global, cultural, and commercial phenomenon. Exchanging gifts, decorating Christmas trees, visiting a church, and enjoying meals with family and friends are all popular customs during this time. But how does one celebrate Christmas amidst the pandemic?

Us Bigueños has a unique way of celebrating Christmas. We put a little Bigueño magic into it. Al, though we are only limited during the pandemic, we still make ways to celebrate the beloved holiday. Hosting and attending parties, meeting with far friends and family, and any physical activities should be discouraged. We must put the safety and well-being of ourselves and others first. We must celebrate safely and responsibly. Everything can be done digitally now. Instead of physical activities like gatherings, we can host online meetings and calls with friends and family.

If physical activities are required, we must still observe proper health protocols like observing social distancing, wearing masks, and washing our hands regularly. You could say that we must both keep ourselves and the Christmas Spirit alive! Haha!

Despite the pandemic, Bigueño’s Christmas Cheer is still very much alive. Us Bigueños know how to deal with a problem. We face them with positivity. This pandemic only serves as a reminder that no matter what we are going through, we must still always be positive.
