The current COVID-19 situation may have been tragic to us, but it's the opposite for our environment. Our environment is flourishing and is improving during the pandemic. The pandemic improves air quality in various places throughout the world, reduces GHG emissions, reduces all kinds of pollution like air and water pollution, and relieves strain on tourist attractions, all of which may aid in the ecological system's rehabilitation. Although even if our environment improved during the pandemic, we're still far from healing it and fixing the damage that is dealt. All we need is unity, discipline, and determination. If we won't come together and work with one another to heal our environment, then who will?
There are various ways to protect and care for the environment by engaging the community in leading an environmentally conscious lifestyle. Some of which are of the following. First, start with yourself. Acknowledge what you're doing wrong and change them. Change your mindset, strive for a better future. Second, think green. You're thinking green when implementing the 5R's (Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Repurpose). Knowing that there are less harmful alternatives for the world is also part of thinking green. In

short, thinking green means that you should be educated and know what you're supposed to do for the environment. Third, you should engage and involve yourself more with the community through community events and activities, and donating to various organizations. Some of the environmental organizations that you can join are the following: World Wide Fund for Nature, Waves for Water, Save Philippine Seas, Mother Earth Foundation, and Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation. Some activities that you could do with the community are the following: Tree Planting, Community Cleaning, and Beach Clean Ups. By involving yourself in various organizations and doing activities that could contribute to improving the state of our environment, you're already leaving a giant impact on our journey to a better and healthier environment. And lastly, educate others and convince and inspire them to make a change. The more aware people are, the more change will happen. This fight for a better and healthier future can't be won alone, we all need to work and come together as one.
Life on Earth is only temporary, so why not make a change while you're still living? God gave us this life and this world that we're living in. That's why we should be responsible for what's happening around our environment. We should all be aware of what's happening and what we should do to help aid or prevent it. But knowing isn't just enough. Actions are what matters, because like they say, actions speak louder than words. With all these in mind, all I can say is that a community that is unified, disciplined, educated, and responsible is key to a better and healthier environment. This fight isn't just only for me, or for you, but it's for the entire human race.
