Quality Education is Achieved by Determination

COVID-19 has affected us in many different ways, one of them is through education. COVID-19 has a huge impact on our education because of it, schools were forced to close. Although we can’t physically meet up and study, we still found new ways to continue our education, and that is through distance learning.

You may ask, what is distance learning? For me, distance learning, also known as distance education or e-learning, is a type of education that doesn’t require you to be physically in contact with other people, that’s why it’s the best option for us during the times of this pandemic. The most common procedures in conducting distance learning are by distributing modules (preferably online) and by hosting online meetings or classes using apps or websites like zoom and google meet. My experiences with distance learning are a series of mixed feelings, it was stressful and confusing at first but I got the hang of it as time passed. Even though distance learning is still a new concept for me, it helped me a lot in studying and not letting my brain rot at home Haha! Even though our classes are conducted online it still feels like I’m still in a classroom, emerging, listening, and participating in topics because I believe in the quote “A room does not make a classroom; Students, teachers, and a love of learning are what makes a classroom."

In all honesty, I’m glad that we have distance learning in these times of pandemic because it helped and it didn’t stop my love for learning.  Although distance learning is not for everyone, we still have to make do because it’s what all we have in terms of quality education. We have to keep moving forward, trying new things, and making do with what we have because learning and education are a must. Just like what Loyal “Jack” Lewman said, “Never stop learning, when we stop learning, we stop growing.”

  1. Hey Carlo, it's me, Brix. I agree with the thing you've said on your blog, wherein the "A room does not make a classroom," and this made sense to me since I also feel that I am still in a classroom even though I am not. That's all, and it was nice reading it.
